DC Trip Information for Seventh Graders

Note from Mr. Johnson:

This is a reminder that any 7th grade student wishing to take part in the early registration program for next year's Washington DC/NYC Trip, has until June 8th to do so. The deadline was extended 1 week because there has been a real flurry of registrations and they want to make sure that everyone that registers will get in by the deadline. Remember that all those registering are eligible for the drawing for twelve-$300 scholarships given just to Watertown students! This drawing will be held Sunday, June 28th at 7:00 pm in the middle school. You need not be present to win. Winners will be notified with a call within a couple of days of the drawing. I can't believe we are already approaching the end of the school year. I always struggle with endings. First as a teacher, and now as assistant principal, there has always been a sadness that settles in for me each spring. I'm excited for students and the bright future that lies ahead for them. At the same time, I miss sharing their day to day lives. The balance for me comes with the list of new incoming seventh graders. I read through the names with excitement and anticipation wondering about new faces and personalities.

I always tell my students... "Once you're "my kid," you're my kid forever. I will continue to rejoice with your students as they travel over the high school. I look forward to another year with next year's eighth graders.
