PARENT ADVISORY TO MEET WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1

Our April SPAC (School, Parent and Community) meeting will be held Wednesday, April 1 at 11:53 in Mrs. Weber's office in CASA 4. All parents are invited to attend. We will be talking about Spring Showcase and Teacher Appreciation in May. We will also talk about upcoming events and discuss any questions/concerns parents have.

If we don't have school, due to our predicted storm, the meeting will reschedule to April 8.

Dakota STEP Tests Start March 30th

WMS students will begin taking the Dakota State Test of Educational Progress from March 30th to April 9th. Eighth grade students will take tests in reading, math, and science. Seventh grade will take tests in reading and math. Please remind your child or children that attendance is very important during this testing time. A good breakfast and plenty of rest will help students focus during these important testing days. If you have any questions about the tests, or our process for administering the tests, you can call Mr. Buechler at 882-6370.

Sixth Grade Students Invade WMS

On April 27th-28th, the Watertown Middle School will be conducting tours for all 6th grade students who will be attending in the fall. The tours will start out with a presentation by the WMS Student Government and end with a walking tour of the school. Mr. Albertsen and Mrs. Weber will be leading the walking tours with the help of the WMS Student Government. Please call Mr. Buechler at 882-6370 is you have questions about the tour

Circus Comes to Town

WMS students will have the opportunity to volunteer at the Shrine Circus on April 11th. They will be selling popcorn, snow cones, or cotton candy. Students volunteer to work one of three shows; 10am, 2pm, and 6pm. Last year we had over 120 volunteers! We ask that students check with their parents about their volunteer commitment because the circus is during the four day Easter holiday. Please contact Mr. Buechler at 882-6370 for more information.

Spring has arrived... Spring Activities To Follow :)

How blessed we are to live in South Dakota! We can have blizzard warnings, tornado warnings and flood warnings all at the same time. :) Hope you all enjoyed spring break with your families.

Upcoming Dates To Remember:
April 3 Tsunami Dance 6:30 to 9:00 and Parent Forum 6:30 to 7:30. The forum will be about social networking (My Space, Facebook, Bebo, etc). There will be door prizes and bonus points given for most classes. More information will be sent to parents.

April 10 Good Friday.... no school.

April 13 Easter Monday ... no school.

April 27 & 28 Sixth Grade Tours at the middle school during school hours.

April 29 Inservice day 12:30 dismissal

April 30 Watertown Middle School play 7 p.m. @ DD Miller Auditorium

May 1 Play presented to middle school students.

May 4 Middle school volunteers serve the Watertown Banquet. Middle school parent volunteers help hang artwork for Spring Showcase.

May 5 Spring Showcase 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Parents and students are invited to view student artwork and hear performances by the Show Choir, Jazz Band and Orchestra.

May 7 Orchestra Concert @ WMS Gym

May 11 Band Concert @ WMS Gym

May 21 Chorus Concert @ DD Miller Auditorium.

May 25 No School.... Memorial Day
